What exactly is Charlie?
Charlie is a preventative healthcare membership for dogs and cats. We combine clinical-grade blood, urine, and faecal diagnostics with vet-guided result reviews and a longitudinal tracking platform — so illness can be caught long before it shows symptoms.
Which pets is Charlie best suited for?
Adult, senior, and genetically higher-risk dogs and cats benefit most. Pets that look perfectly healthy benefit too — that's the point of preventative care: establishing a baseline before anything is wrong.
How does the Charlie process work?
Join the waitlist, complete a sample collection at a partner clinic or via mobile vet, sit with one of our vets for a results walkthrough, and track your pet's health inside the Charlie Platform. Most owners are start-to-finish in under two weeks.
How long do results take?
Lab analysis typically completes in three to five business days. Once results land, we book a vet consultation within a further forty-eight hours to walk you through every biomarker.
What happens if something abnormal is detected?
Your Charlie vet contextualises the finding, recommends next steps, and connects you with the right specialist or your existing veterinarian. We share the full report so any clinician can act on it immediately.
Is Charlie Pet Health covered by insurance?
Pet insurance plans vary widely. Some preventative care add-ons reimburse routine diagnostics; many do not. We provide itemised invoices so you can submit claims easily where coverage exists.
How is Charlie different from a normal vet visit?
A standard annual visit looks for problems that are already presenting. Charlie's panels are designed around early detection — broader biomarker coverage, structured longitudinal tracking, and a vet review focused on prevention rather than reaction.
Do I need this if my pet seems healthy?
Yes — that's the ideal time to start. Pets are exceptional at hiding illness, and a baseline taken while they are well is the most valuable diagnostic anchor your vet will ever have.
How long does the process take?
Sample collection itself takes about fifteen minutes. Including lab time and consultation, expect roughly two weeks end to end for your first panel.
What if nothing is found?
That's the goal. A clean baseline is the most valuable result we can give you — every future panel is then compared against your pet's own normal, making early shifts easier to spot.
Who reviews my pet's results?
A qualified, registered veterinarian on the Charlie team reviews every panel and conducts your consultation. Results are never reported by software alone.
Will Charlie replace my regular vet?
No. Charlie complements your primary vet by adding structured preventative diagnostics and longitudinal tracking. Your existing veterinarian remains your first call for treatment, vaccinations, and acute care.
